It's one of those weeks. Busy. A bit off kilter (I've been fighting a horrendous migraine since Sunday night). Trying to find rhythm. I spent most of the day on the couch trying to knock this thing off for good, and it was so funny to watch and hear my kids interact. Which brings me to the subject of this post.
"LU-loooo! No! Weave my cahrs awone!"
"Zay-zay, you not play nicely with my trains!"
"DAY-vin...hey DAY-vin...I make you giggle!"
The goofy names we give our kids.
Such as: "Ben the Man" "Benchillada" (what he looked like all swaddled, so very long ago)""boo-boo"
...Isaiah has literally been called "Zay-Zay" since he was born...
"Rocketboy""Monkeyshines" "Mr. Zoom Zoom" (a play on ZayZay, of course)
and then there is "Princess Bean" (another nod to a swaddled Lorelei, who looked for all the world like a string bean), and the ever-present "Lu-Lu", which is short for Lu-lu bug. Although, the way the boys pronounce it, heavy on the first syllable, it should really be spelled with a string of o's.
And the worst? I just called David "nickelbelly". Now where it comes from, I have no idea. At least it's not as goofy as my dad's pet name for me: Frizzlebritches. (I have wavy hair that tends to stick out at odd ends) There's a name that stuck like glue- and the funny thing is, I am rather fond of it now.
So fess up...tell me all the goofy nicknames/petnames you have for your loved ones!
{And just because the Grandmas cannot go long without some pictures of grandkiddos, I submit Lorelei and David, conspiring at the swing.}
